The Story

This cardigan was made with Kumo Shibori tie-dying conducted on polyester with a light, sleek, cotton-like texture in Aichi Prefecture’s Arimatsu, a production area for traditional Shibori tie-dying. The collar and hem design incorporates three-dimensional protrusions through applying the Kumo Shibori process, in which parts of the fabric are tied by hand. It can be folded and stored compactly in the included drawstring pouch made from the same material.
